A wonderful perspective to discover the city

The City Bike Tour takes you past the highlights of Zeeland’s capital and to beautiful spots that are hard to find without a guide. Along the way, Marcel will share facts and myths from Middelburg’s past. During the bike tour, you’ll also discover the origins of various expressions.

During the tour, we’ll make a short stop where you can explore one of Middelburg’s most charming streets. Under the watchful eye of ‘Malle Betje‘, we’ll conclude the bike tour after 2.5 hours and return to the starting point.

We’ve purchased 10 second-hand bikes. These have been fully inspected and refurbished, so you can book the bike tour including the bike. Of course, you can also experience the tour on your own bike, or rent one from a company like Cycle Hub.

Yes, we provide a bicycle, but you can also experience the tour with your own bicycle.

The tour will continue even if it rains. Be sure to bring good rain gear.

Children are welcome as long as they can cycle independently and participate in traffic. We do not have separate children’s bikes among our rental bikes.

The tour lasts about 2.5 hours. We’ll not only be cycling, but also doing short walks where cycling is not permitted.

‘A fantastic tour through beautiful Middelburg’

We took a tour with Marcel and had a wonderful afternoon in Middelburg. In just a few hours, we saw so much of the city that we wouldn’t have seen otherwise. He talked in a relaxed manner about the history and all the special features of the city. We immediately found out where we could enjoy a nice meal that evening 😉

What a wonderful experience cycling through the old town of Middelburg. We thoroughly enjoyed the interesting stories, historic buildings and pretty squares and alleys. Even for us (Germans), the tour was easy to understand in English. Highly recommended!

Marcel is an excellent guide who showed us the city with humour and a wealth of historical knowledge. We now also know that Dutch courage can be very brave… We don’t like history lessons on holiday, but this tour was entertaining and enjoyable. And what a beautiful city! It’s easy to do by bike, and we really felt Dutch.

We did the English version of the city bike tour through Middelburg with our English friends. We thoroughly enjoyed cycling through the narrow alleys and hidden spots. It was a pleasant afternoon with interesting facts (and myths) about the Dutch and the Dutch East India Company from the perspective of other countries. Surprising and a great success!
